Speaker installation
Hey,
I have a pair of rockford fosgate 6.5's and i am very confused on how to install them. I attempted to take the old speakers out to find it close to imposible unless i would completly tear my car apart. Can any of you help me out and give me a cheap place to do it at, or instructions for the instal.
Thanks guys,

There is no avoiding the tearing apart of the car. The front speakers require you taking the door panels off. The back requires that you remove the back seat. No getting around it.
And be warned that not all 6.5 inch speakers will fit exactly. The car actually takes a 6.75 inch speaker. My Bostons didn't have the extra surround part to be compatible with a 6.75 inch opening so I had to ghetto rig them somewhat.

thank you, i was just at a shop, and the guys there said that maximas have to be rewired for new speakers to work. Is that true? And do you have any tips on how i should install the new speakers? http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...nch%20Coaxials thats the speakers i just baught. Oh yeah, and i dont have a bose system... does the stock system have the amp too?
do you have a bose system in there? if it is, you can't just change one set of speakers. you need to change both front and back. however, if you have non-bose system, you shoudln't need to rewire the entire car. bose stinks!! =P
Like he said, if you don't have a Bose, you shouldn't need rewiring unless somebody before you did something major to your system. It should be a simple plug and play installation. I replaced all 4 speakers in my car with Infinity Reference 652i 6.5" in about 1 hour and they fit perfectly in the wholes
Sweet. I dont have the bose. I tryed those infinities out. Awsome highs, but not that great mids and lows, and i vowed that i would never buy a sub so i got the fosgates. They really do sound sweet. Awsome mix of lows, mids, and highs. Thanks guys.
i just did this last weekend, theres no rewireing, but you do have to cut of the original female conector of those wires, n then connect it to the speaker, make sure to know which wire's negetive and which one's positive, i used this http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/audiowiring.asp to find out which wires what.
hey bigx, your link won't work, and i'd like to find out which speaker wire is which on those bose female adaptors. also, is it possible to use the other two lines for my tweeds? thanks a lot!
