Building an amp rack

Gettin bored while I make this so I figure I'll show you guys to get some ideas/opinions. First of all, I'm gettin sick of my lo-end/ricer system, so I'm going relatively big (for me) this time. I've got my box already from bigdogaudio.com, I ordered the big one (18x18x16), but they goofed and sent me the small one (16x16x16). With some help I've decided I'm gonna use this one and throw some polyfill in it. The sub is going to be an Adire Tempest 15, the amp is a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2 (534.78 watts RMS @ 4 ohms). I have everything except the sub and the wires, which I already have ordered. I got a new job helping roofing houses...and anything in the trash pile is up for game, so I grabbed the biggest piece of wood that would fit in my trunk, seems to be 1/2" thick, my boss told me is was OSB (forget what it meant), but looks similiar to MDF. I'm putting the amp on this piece of wood, 16" deep, about 22" long, I'm lining up the side that is 16" with the side of the box (see below drawing), and the amp has endcaps, so I'm going to cut holes in the board to allow the cords to go beneath them. I'm gonna put the rear of the wood about an inch from the top of the box, and slant the front down so it's about 4 inches from the top of the box...so far I've only drawn out where I need to cut, and laid the amp out and drilled holes for the amp to be secured (and the endcaps), I still need to cut and carpet it...what do you guys think?

its kind of, if not very strange looking, with all the wood u can use from work, why no tmake a board that goes completely around ur box and pushes it up snug against the back seat, and then just bolt the amp down on the board wherever you want to?
