WTF amp died out already by just moving it !

ok my amp was on and i lifted it at an angle and then there was a short pop with a yellow light and then smoke came out, well it smelled like something burnt. I checked all of my fuses and the fuse on the battery was gone. Someone told me i shouldnt run the amp of the cig lighter fuse because of too much voltage on the amp? the amps not even mine. if i fix the main fuse would it work? plz i need help

Dude, you never ever ever ever want to hook your remote wire up to a constant 12v source. The remote wire needs to be hooked up to a switched circuit. Like the ignition switch! Otherwise your amp will be on 100% of the time.
I don't know what to tell you about the amp, because I physically cannot check it out. But it's not good when you smell electrical stuff burning. More then likely just replacing the fuse isn't gonna do the trick. Your amp is probably toast? If you stick your nose right up to the amp & take a good wiff, does it smell like fried electrical. if it does then it's for sure needed repairs if it can even be repaired. Best way to know for sure is to take it into your local car stereo shop (not circuit city or best buy) but a decent audio shop. And have them test it for you. they will be able to tell you right away if it's ok or not. Sorry to hear about the mishap.

basically when the cars on the amp is on even if your stereo isnt on. this is not really good because its been over used for nothing. just run it to the ignition and let it at that. when u tell me u smell burning, u most definitly burnt your amp. but good luck with it

You need to install a aftermarket headunit with a remote out.

Or buy a switch / circuit install in the car so you cut if off or on when the car is on.

If its toast, not under warranty anymore and you're really ****ed off... take it out to a shooting range and shoot the crap out of it with a large caliber rifle. It'll make you feel better... trust me After having mine repaired 3 times... I hated it with a passion.

that probably has alot to do with why it caught fire, of course there could be wiring issues from the install as well but if nothing else checks out i'd say it's the amp itself.
