Need Help with Modern Alpine Head Unit Settings

I could use some help with setting up some of the functions of a modern Alpine head unit. I’m familiar with the concept of “Time Correction” and have that set properly to delay the closer speakers to match the ones located farther away. Others I could use some advise:

Bass Center Frequency and Band Width: While I understand the concept of picking the center of frequency you wish to boost and the range centering that frequency, the manual does not make any recommendations as to where to set them. Is this just pure preference or is this more system/environment specific?
Same goes for Treble Center Frequency and High Pass Filter.

The one that’s real confusing to me is the Bass Focus. I don’t understand the concept of what this is trying to accomplish, much less the proper setting.

Any help would be appreciated as I have three of these units as described below.

CDA-7894 in M3 with factory speakers
CDA-7893 in Maxima with aftermarket Infiniti 2-way speakers
CDA-9813 in conversion van with Alpine V12 amps and subwoofer

The bass focus is basically the fast way to try to get better staging by time correction, as it allows you to adjust two speakers at the same time. I just skipped this part and went straight to the measuring tape, this way there would be less guessing. Once I got the right time correction measurements I just uploaded them to my 7998. With my previous setup I just put them in manually.

Get some measuring tape, then measure the distance between your headrest (which is pretty close to where your head will be) and all of the speakers in your systems. Go to Alpine's website, then click on IPersonalize (you will have to register if you have not already done so), plug in all of the measurements for your particular headunit, and out will pop out the time correction values that you will need put into your headunits. You will have to do a seperate one for each car. It does make a difference. This is mostly a set it and forget it setting for me. Once in a big while I use the other setting I have, in which I add more delay to the signal of the rear speakers which sounds nice with some music.

So the bass focus and time correction are not used together and you need to decide which you wish to use? I did use the I-Personalize and put in the proper values and I completely understand the logic behind it. I guess I wont worry about the bass focus then. Thanks for the info.
