Anyone know the specs on the non-Bose double din head unit?

i.e. - wattage, cd changer ability (yes/no, stock only?)

Any help would be great!

thanks guys

I believe that's a 100W system, 25W MAX power per channel.

For adding a changer does your deck have changer control capability? If not you can still use an RF adapter changer with another external adapter that allows you direct connection input to the rear of your factory stereo.

The EDNUNI device is what I'm referring to located here.

You can buy this from any Stinger Electronics car audio accessory dealer or online from us at Ampman Audio or Autotoys.com

I think that it is 25 W RMS per channel....

On an interesting note.....

I recently changed my stock head unit with an Alpine....
I really wanted the low level outs for the sub without using the adapter.
To my disbelief, the stock unit had a lot more ***** than the new Alpine that I replaced it with. WTF?

Of course, with the addition of the sub, the Alpine sounds much better....especially with BBE turned on.

Prolly the reason is that your stock setup is biased to sound good in the midrange frequencies of the car. And are tuned to work well in that setup. Once you go aftermarket you will lack that ability with just a simple change in the headunit or speakers alone. Once you trick it out though it will get better....
