opinions on MA Audio Subs

hey guys. I'm in the process of upgrading my system, and at first i was looking at getting one 10" Alpine Type R sub. They're around $150 i believe from a store. Yesterday i checked out thezeb and they got some MA Audio MA1250W Subs for around $40. I was wondering if that's a pretty good sub. They say that it handles 250W RMS. Do any of you have experience with MA Subs, and especially that model? Is it a good deal, or do you basically get what you pay for? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

well i had a friend who had a pair of 12 inch MA audio subs, and they sounded good and he had no problems with them. they were really loud too, but he sold them after a few months to get a square kicker so i dont know how well they hold up over time, but he had not problems.

what do you guys think about these Audiobahn subs:

If i got two of those, would it be better than one Type r? I'm just trying to save some money on the subs.

The MA's are OK but keep in mind, that company had to change their name because they had a reputation for shoddy products.

Those Audiobahns arent very good, but they work fine too if treated well.

Whats your budget for subs?
Maybe I can help you find something that fits you perfectly.

Don is right in what he says.

Well i would like to stay under 150 for the subs, so i would get either one or two subs depending on a price. I'm not exactly sure on whether i want twelwes or tens, i'm just looking for the best bang for the buck. Cuz otherwise i would just get one Alpine Type R, i think at the local store it goes for around $150. Also do you think one 10" type r would do, or should i get a 12"? I've herd that type r's are the best subs for the money, ofcourse that was from the guy that sells alpines. Is that true, or can you get something better for $150. Thank You!

The term "best" is way too subjective. As what sounds best to one, may sound like crap to others. What is important is what sounds Good to YOU. As far as other brands..theres tons in/close to that price range from Kicker,Diamond Audio,Arc,Memphis,Orion,etc....
