find the tach wire?

It’s difficult to find the tach wire. Is it in the lumped up the gray wires? The gray wire area is difficult to loosen apart.

you need to pull the clear plastic cover off of the ECU. It is found to the left of the bolt..White wire/green stripe.

After fulling unscrewing the bolt unplug the ECU for easier access. To take the plastic cover off youll see tabs inside to pop it off. Do NOT have your keys in the ignition when unplugging the ECU.

If the ECU basically controls the car and you have the keys on theres nothing to control the car.....you can kinda figure out the rest.....

I have finally unplugged the ECU. How do you pop off the plastic cover? I have been trying for a long time.

Theres not much more info that I or anyone can really provide. If you are looking at the harness with the plug facing up towards you, you will see the tabs. Pop it off by prying them ....

i started the tech learning process. the alarm responded with 3 parking light flashes indicating that i have the wrong tach wire. does the alarm have the same respond i do not connect the wire? i wrapped the wire from the alarm around tach wire from the ECU. no soldering yet because i'm at a testing stage. there are 2 white/green wires. i follow the tech sheet and connected the white/green wire on the middle row the 7th wire from the left according.

should i use the injector wire? if so, where can i locate it?

You apparently have something wrong. Ive used that wire and Only that wire on At Least 85-120 4th gen Maximas with no problems. Maybe try the other white/green.

Bingo, you are right. On the 1st wire, I was following one of my several tech sheets that have a specific location of the tach wire. The tech sheet was wrong. I have 3 wires that are different from all tech sheets that I have. I guess tech sheets are not as accurate as I thought. Don, I thank you for your help. You have done a service for all of us here. I now love my remote starter. It’ my 1st time using a FM alarm system and wow the range is amazing.
