Speaker Whine

I installed an amp for my rear speakers, and about 1 month later installed another for my front speakers. Lately i have noticed at really low volumes, i can hear a whining coming from my speakers as i'm accelerating. i've heard of this problem before, but don't remember the solution. any one have an idea? also, my friend with a Spec-V is having the same problem after installing his third amp in his car.

Possible ground loop if you grounded to different spots, but you said you had it before the second amp sooooooooooooooooo......make sure you're head unit is grounded good, and speaker wires and RCAs arent pinched. Also an alternator thats on its way out the door causes noise.

Mines doin the same thing, sound like a super charger or turbo spoolin up sort of. Its just the rca not being shielded and being near the power and speaker wires

hey im having this same problem....when my car is off its fine, no noise....but when my car is running, and I accelerate i get really bad whine...I just amped my speakers. The power wire is separated from all other wires. RCAs and speaker wires go down the entire opposite side of the car. Someone said ground...could it not be good enough to handle grounding my amp and cause this? Thanks!

Well as long as your using the same guage wire you should be fine. Also do you have any neon transformers arround there? (saying if ui had neons) I get a low high pitched noise because my transformers are to close to the battery. Also, get a multi meter and make sure your existing ground works...

4g power 4g ground. My rcas are cheap....thinking about getting some stingers or rockford fosgates. Do you think this cheap rcas could be the problem? Fairly sure they are.

my RCAs and my power line are running down seperate sides of the car. i have to check in the back if they are all tangled up. the only problem is, my buddys Spec V has the same problem even though no where near as loud as mine, and all his wiring is neatly organized keeping the RCAs away from the power wires going to all three of his amps. i do have 2 neons under the dash and one behind where the clock used to be, but as i stated, they were in when i had the single amp in and i didn't get any whine through the speakers till i added the second amp.

not sure if htis helps but make sure you ground is on bare metal and that it is not close to the RCA's I had ground noise also from having my ground on the left side near my rca's and once moved to the right side away from rcas it killed ground noise.
