What components do you guys recommend for me i don't want to spend allot of cash just something that will sound good?

I was considering polk db, infinity or rockford fosgate. I also plan on getting a 4ch amp so if you could give me a recommendation about that it would be appreciated.

infinitys give a really clear high. if you have subs and want to even it out those are good. ive always linked infinity with very nice highs, avg mids, and avg bass....polk is like a good all around company nothing super noticable but everything is nice....the main thing, get a better than avg amp....if your underpowering them, your not getting your moneys worth....

 

yea i was thinkin about the rockford fosgate 801X cause its cheap at allot of places and, from what i've heard, rockford fosgate makes some of the best amps available today

 

cdt cl61's... great comps for the price of $150. people like mine over my buddies perfects... but the cdt's have a laid back tweeter if you go with silk.

 

The tweeters on the 6.5 Kappa Components are really bright. They really standout.

 

The Eclipse components that I'm selling sound really good.

 

If you only want to spend $50ish then Pioneer and Kenwood are pretty good if you want to spend $90ish then go with infinity or maybe alpine.

 

The components aren't that cheap.

The term "best" is way too subjective. There really isnt a best speaker out there per say. It goes by what sound good to the owner of the speakers. All of the above listed Infinity,Polk,CDT,etc are all entry-mid line speakers. They are not typically regarded to in the "best" category. By any of the regular audiophiles out there. If they sound good to you then go for it, but best bet would be to go to a few local dealers and see what You like. Opinions of course could always help in pointing a direction for you, but bottom line is that Your ears will be listening to them.

If your jumping up into higher end components then a few would be: Diamond Audio,Rainbow,Arc,ScanSpeak,Morel,Vifa,Phoenix Gold (Elite only),Eclipse, etc...

as far as amps dont go with rockford, they USED to be some of the best in the industry but their time has come and gone. go with something better im sure people here would have alot of suggestions for you.

 

I have the JL Audio XR650-CSi set and feel that they have incredible sound quality, but they aren't the most affordable.

 

What about the RE or Adire Koda components? Pretty good bang for the buck.

As far as amps go, I would go for whatever you can find a good deal on and does what you want.

 

ive heard good things about both sets. but how about 2 koda 8's and get some tweets for them.

 

If you put them in the doors, the 8s won't have as good an off axis response as the 6.5s. if you wanted to run the Koda8s I would go with a three way setup with the mids mounted in kicks. Maybe the 4" XBL^2 driver that everyone is waiting on Adire to release. Now that would be sweet

I will probably try the Koda 8s in my rear doors at some point...just need to find the time and the money.

 

The Diamond Audio CM3 convertibles are very nice for the price(my bros car)- I personally like laid back silks and natural sounding mids myself- Rainbow, CDT,etc...

 

i think if you want a cheap set go with kicker or infinity

on the high end side dont forget to add Focal that i run & MB Quart to the list of high end from above

 

Focal is very nice. Sweet and neutral European sound, not overly warm or saturated. Reminds me a lot of B&W on the car audio side.

 

Rainbow Reference are the best components

 

CDT Eurosports. I can't complain.

 

If you think infinity components are cheap, you might want to reconcider. Here's one of their sets. I'm not sure how much the others cost, but these aren't cheap, at least not in my book. I am unsure what your definition of cheap is though. Just wanted to clear this up.

thanks to all...now what to do with amps for my speakers and subs...i need a 4ch and a 1ch(mono) for my subs what do you reccommend...i am considering alpine,rockford fosgate or jl audio

i also dont know what to buy for a new sub probably gonna get 1 12 in

what good is a pair of excellent comp if they arent install right?

 

I have the Profi Vanadium components and Soundlines in the rear. Rainbow all around. They sound great!

 

well i sold my old stuff for 425 so i want to spend 850-900 total with sub,2 amps, components and probably a new wire kit

 

wiring=50
components lets say around 200.
amp for them around 150.
so you have around 400-500 pending on how much you spend on comps and their amp to spend on sub/amp/box. do you plan on making your own box or will someone build you one? do you want sealed or ported?

 

did i mention Rainbow Reference are over $6000 a set

Well the perfects are only 300 bucks , its the top of the line Infinity and its a good speaker but in my thinking any thing at this price is still pretty cheap stuff .now don’t get me wrong they are nice units for the average Joe but if you want something that sounds as good as your maxima looks then go ahead and step up to a quality set of components your ears will thank you for a long time.

 

And what would that be darrick?

 

anyone heard the RE XXX Componenets?
$400 bucks a set i believe.. i think thats what im getting when i get my taxes back next year.

Actually the XXX comps are not meant to be run IB, they are more for sealed boxes like in kicks or door pods. The RE comps are meant for IB in doors and they are even more reasonably priced.

I am not sure if the XXX comps are out just yet...if they are I haven't read any reviews yet. If anyone has a review please post.
