Speakers stopped working

Are the tweeters dependant on the front door speakers? My front left speakers(door and tweeters) stopped working. I haven't taken out the headunit to verify my wiring, but I was wondering if those two speakers were wired in such a way that would stop sound from coming out of the tweeter as well as the door. I have noticed that the door speaker has kinda been popping since I bought the car but I would always ignore it, but now its just annoying with only one speaker working...

It is a 2003 SE- non-bose BTW

welcome to the audio forum, where most 5.5 gen owners start off their audio mods because of the same problem- my left factory tweet would go on/off randomly until i decided to ditch the factory stuff- I had the double din non-bose CD player and installed new components and an amplifier off the factory wiring for a long period and it never occurred again, which leads me to believe its not a HU issue-
