Just put in a new JVC unit in place of the old Bose. But noticed it sticks out a tad and the outer trim won't snap on. Do most use a kit for the 3rd gen Maxima? Or is it best just to trim off some of the panel that's blocking the outer trim from going all the way on?

 

mine is mounted from the inside with the trim ring still attached. It looks pretty good and the HU is still flush with the little change drawer thing.
