You could make a false wall in the trunk. I doubt he would notice the trunk dosnt go back as deep as normal.

It'll be difficult to hide the two subs, wires, and the amp. Your father will eventually notice that there's less trunk space. Why don't you spend your money on a set of nice speakers?

Just kiss some **** and you will be fine. Get them installed some where that will give you a warrantee if they mess something up. SO you both win, you get the sound and he gets the piece of mind knowing that some place professional installed them and if something goes wrong(god forbid) you have some where to bring it to to get it fixed.

i doubt hell he see that one wire, unless you loom it up and hide it or something. but trust me once u have a system in your car anyone or everybody will notice. unless your slick and dont play it around your way.the best thing to do is what slickrick said and put like a trap door. either than that get a free air sub and start drilling the rear deck

DUDE, you can't hide no subs eighter way. how you expect to get sound quality, you need room for the bass. you could do the spare tire idea, but you can't cover them like with a plywood or something. maybe someone will come through with an idea.

Ok, I'm going to answer your questions.

So some research if you want to find out what a free air sub is. It's a sub that does not require an enclosure (box).

I'm sure your father is not stupid, he doesn't want you to spend money like this and put a bunch of audio in your car for a reason. Maybe you could ask him why he would prefer you not doing so instead of calling your own father stupid. One of my buddies' father passed away yesterday, so you may want to think about that for a second. I'm assuming that he does not want you to have to worry about your car being broken into etc.

Talk to him about simply just upgrading the factory speakers (as someone else mentioned) this will give you a better sound overall.

Oh yeah, BTW

oh oh i know i know. Use velcro to secure everything so you can take it out whenever you want. Thats what im planning to do.

OR

you can camouflage the subs and amp. Put the sub box in a huge cardboard box and bolt it to the car. Do the same for the amp. Since its bolted to the car, if your dad tries to move the box, he'll think its too heavy and give up.

I belive your father might be like mine. Once you put everything in, he won't care much as long as you say, it took hours of work, and looks better then shop would ever do.

Are you kidding me? Is this the type of advice we can expect on here? The issue is a bit deeper than trying to figure out how to hide a couple of subs in this kid's trunk.

StAtiXz6 - Take mine and the others' advice and talk to him about upgrading the original speakers. Don't try to hide anything from him, because if your car does get broken into, I'm sure that not having bass in your car anymore is going to be the least of your problems.

Best bet right now if you want to improve the sound is to get some nice interior speakers. Granted, most nice speakers are power hungry and may need a good 4 channel amp to make them shine. But this will lead us back to square 1...your father might see the wires. I'd say talk it over with your old man first, then go from there.

free air is a sub that works with out a box, if u cut a hole in your rear deck you could probably mount like a 6 inch sub on it but den again, i think it will be real obvious to see a speaker on the deck unless u get some kind of grill that covers it up well. or u could be ghetto and take out your spare nd build a box there and cut a pice of the carpet out when u want to play the sub i duno wateva works for u, but trust me a system IS OBVIOUS

Simple. Remove the rear speakers, enlarge the holes and place some 8"s in there. I doubt he will notice a change in diameter from 6.5 to 8 in the rear.

Or, Make a custom fiberglass enclosure on the side of the trunk for a 12, right where the jack and stuff is, but on the other side.

Or, get a bass tube and put a towel over it so he can't see it
