installing system tomorrow...few questions???

well, i've got my two 10 inch flame q subs, my dual chambered 10" box, and my audiobahn a8002t amp. i get my car back finally from the body shop, and im puttin in my stereo.

now, where is the most logical place to run the power wire from my battery to the amp? with the remote, and rca plugs, i was hoping to run it under the carpet. anyone done this? also, i would like to try and run the power wire under the carpet too. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Under the carpet is fine, but keep the power separated from the other wiring.

when you say keep it away from the other wires, you mean not touching? i was planning on putting some loom around the wiring, so would that do the trick? and also, my main objective in the question was to find out how i would get the power wire from the battery into the cabin to get it under the carpet in the first place. thanks though SEmy2k2go

Run the power wire on one side of the car and the other wiring along the other side. They need to be isolated from one another.

To get the wire from the batt into the cabin u have to go throught the firewall.....like SEmy2K2go said u have to separate the power from RCA...best way is running the rca on passanger side of the car...if by any chance RCA and power cross make sure it's at 90 deg angle otherwise u might get into some problems........btw r those DVC subs and what Ohms are they.....oy yea moke sure u get a good ground....90% of amp problems are coused by bad ground

yeah, they are DVC and can be ran at 2 or 8 ohms. i wired them up in a parallel/series, taking my amp down to 2 ohms. should sound pretty nice. also, i understand i need to go through the firewall, but where? i have found nowhere to run the wire.

hey ecko, i have your exact car and i ran the power wire down the drivers side..from the battery i ran it thru my door kinda (just make sure it wont be crushed) and back into the car, underneath the plastic pieces which are only visable when the door is open (dont know what theyre called).. just pull them up, they snap out. once you get the wire(s) to the back seat take the back seat out and there are plenty of obvious places to get it into the trunk. good luck

i found a grommet towards the middle of the engine bay and used that. took out my drivers seat and ran all the wiring under the carpet that way. took out the backseat, and ran the wiring to the trunk. after i realized the pac thing i bought wouldnt work for a remote, i used my 12v lighter socket as my remote, and everything work perfect. it pounds like a bish. now i gotta get like 12 layers of dynamat or some sound deadener for the trunk, because as good as it sounds inside, the outside it just rattling. everything else works out good. i followed you guys'[ advice and kept the power and rca away from each other. but may i ask why im supposed to do that? does the power interfer with the signal the rca sends?

Exactly. You may experience alternator wine through the speakers if they are all ran together. Good work

alright coolio. i was freakin out for like two hours because the amp wasnt working because the pac oem thing's remote sucks. which is why i chose the lighter socket. any recommendations on sound deadening? id hate to pull up next to some chump, and try blowing them away only to have them here metal bouncing around.

thanks for all the help guys, made my install go a lot easier.

Dynamat has been used by many for many years. There may be some better products out there, but I'm not sure. I just live withe the rear deck rattles.

alright man, keep me updated. i got rid of a lot of rattle by using all 4 screws on my license plate, not just two. also cleaned out the spare trunk well and got rid of loose screws and everything. my turnk lid and spoiler rattle now, but not annoying enough to make me not keep the stereo blasting. once again, thanks for all the help guys.
