HELP!!! no more sound???

I have a 2001 w/a Bose HU and 6-disc changer. while i was driving, my cds started to skip and so i switched to the FM and while the signal was strong, there was nothing coming out of the speakers!! i kept on switching from cds to the FM and still nothing. i even turned the volume up and down. sometimes, music come through, then it'd just die.

Any suggestions on what it is??? any help would be appreciated!! i checked the fuse under the hood and that was fine.
