Police headlight

Hey, I was wondering how I could make my headlights and taillights flash like a police car. I think they have something wired to the factory lights, but I'm not sure. I'd like them to be operated by a toggle switch inside the car. How hard/easy would it be to do that mod on my 96 MAX?, how much would it cost?, and where should I go for parts?

what you are talking about are strobe lights. they are very easy to do and you can get them just about anywhere like wal-mart autozone etc. they usually come with a crappy switch but its a rocker or toggle depending on the ones you get.

the ones the police have, and the ones that actually look GOOD, and can flash in patterns like the police, are made by Whelen. They are expensive depending on what you wanna get. they all mount in the same way, you have to drill a hole in whatever light you want and mount the bulb in there. if you just want flashy lights, get the wal mart/pep boys ones made by Pilot. they come with sleeves for different colors and ****. but if you really want the police like effect, Whelen is the way to go.
