I am planning a DVD screen + indash dvd player, and I am wondering does the brand indash DVD player type really matter? I know for screen it does you would want a quality screen, but for player as long as it will play DVDs/CD/MP3/VCDs has a remote and most of the basic features of a DVD player isnt it sufficent?

cause if you have a alpine in dash dvd player for example and it costs $450 and then you have some other brand indash DVD player and it cost $150 isnt the only realy difference the brand name? and a few extra luxurious features?

welll the "some other" dvd in dash for 150, u are prolly talking about brands like pyle or power akustik, and well i've read a couple of reviews that said the power acustik started to make circular indentations on their dvds...so yes it IS more then just a brand name and cooler features SOMETIMES, ive looked around, and although all those eBay dvd in dashes are tempting, i'd rather spend 300 then have to buy a second 150 dollar in dash...good luck hope this helps

it did help alot, I didnt know that it might actually damage the DVD I figured all the indash DVD player would atleast be made with a certain amount of quality to where all dvds would be playerd properly but the extra features is what would make the superior in dash dvd player
