right now i have a 4ohm sony xplod dp1300 amp that pushes out 200rms. i want something around the 400ish range to 500 tops rms. i dont want to spent that much. i went to my audio store and they had this little *** alpine amp, 700x2 i think. and it pushes out 350rms at 2ohms. are alpine amps as good as there hu's? and i asked her about rockford amps and she said they get hot quick at 2ohms. neways im looking for a good amp that pushes around 400rms thanks
I would look into one of the new Nine.2 amps from Elemental Designs. Here is the link

Also, JBL and HiFonics amps can be found on ebay fairly cheap and they are good quality.

thanks guys, i didnt realize my amp could handle a 2 ohm load. right now its pushing 200rms as 4ohms. and ijust saw the specs today and i could push 2ohms at 400 watts, so i will try this out today. right now my sub is in parallel.
watch out....

It will get hotter and could shorten your amp life...but good luck...
......
and the Kicker's have it....
btw....
to answer your original question....yes alpine makes good amps...as long as you get the proper amp...look for the underrated old "Expert" series...they need 14.4V to perform at their peak, bu they are great when they do, and clean as a whistle...look for an old MRV-T757, rare amp but sweet...I have had poor experience with xplod amps, and think they got that name for a reason, not marketing....but I hope you have better luck....BTW what are you trying to push and what H/U do you have...what AWG wire to amp...and what power upgrades if any do you have?

thanks btw im a guy. the sub is a dual 2ohm dvc and only works at 4ohms when i take out the wire that makes it run parallel it does not play at all. my hu is cdm9823. i have a sonyxplod ds1300p5 mono amp. now this is my 2nd hu and does not play as loud as my rcas from the rear bose. when i have the rca from the hu to the amp it plays reallly low, like u cant even hear it, this was with my previous hu also. everything was setup right and it still plays low from the rcas from the hu. thats why i keep the rcas from the hi low adapter to the amp.

you are confused about wiring the sub. when i gave it to you it was wired for 4 ohms. the only other way to wire it would give you one ohm which i told you your amp cannot handle, so what are you doing to my sub? lol
This is hella cheap!!!! Almost too good to be true like the Volfenhag amps.
