how do I test a Aftermarket amp. (see if it is working)

ok, i have had this amp for a 2 years now.
last time I took off my car it was working properly.
but for some reason the amp doesn't turn on.
for those who read my thread (blow amp) I think I'm facing the same problem.

the amp doesn't turn on, even thou all the wires are connected correctly.

1) I tested my power wire and it has energy flowing. (sparks come out, when i touch the metal parts of my car.
2) the ground wire is in the same location it has always being (it worked before too) (on the bolt that hold the jack)
3) the remotewire , seams to be the only reason why the amp isn't turning on. how can I chack if the remote wire have power on it?
well basicaly, what I'm asking is,

What other problems could it be, to make my amp, not turn on?

Thanks
Gui

P.S. I fell so stupid, this is the reason why I blew my smaler amp. (I kept pluging and unpluging wires, to find out whch wire might have had a problem.

get a multimeter and test the voltage in the remote... something tells me that's the problem... the easiest way to make sure that this is so is to connect regular power cable to the remote port and see if the amp is working... if it does, then it's definetely the remote... if not... then I guess I have bad news for you about your amp...
Oh, and by the way, check the fuses on the amp itself of course

i usually test my hus by tying the yellow memory wire to the power wire and placing that on the pos side of the car batt, and take the ground and ground it on the neg side of the battery. if it comes on it works

sounds like mine when i installed it...turned out to be the fuse closest to the battery (not the one in the amp); get a new one and see what happens.

ok, again I think I blew another amp. I was really tiored from the day, there wasn't alot of light on the trunck and I just guessed which place I should put the ground and the power wire.
well it turns out, (when I saw on the next day.) that I put the power wire on the ground slot, and the ground wire on the power slot.

so, I did blow my amp right?

ok Gui Vs Amps 2 x 0
now I should be heading down to circuity city and buying a new amp, to blow up again.

pull the that lile fuse chip out of the amp ...get a voltage tester , it should look like a little meter with two prongs red and black. place both prongs on the ends of the fuse and see the voltage....if there is none u burned a fuse

well just a update on this. I went to circuty city, and they guy tested for me for free. he found out, that my car had a bad ground conntact. I thought he didn't know what he was talking about, since I had my sub installed on this car before, and had no problem. but then he shaved a contac area on the trunk and drill a hole to put the ground. And now I'm happy to say that my SUB are working at its full power, and I didn't burn my amp.
