Is an aftermarket headunit possible with Bose speakers?

So I've been looking at different possibilities, and this is the newest one I thought of. Will my Bose speakers work with an aftermarket headunit? If they can, is any fabrication needed? Thanks.

yes they are able to work, you need a PAC NIS....1 i think that allows you to change your HU and keep the bose speakers....Fabrication?? the only thing you will need like all after market HUs is a double din.

I was thinking of purchasing the Alpine CDA-9833 HU. Does this require the PAC unit and will my sound quality be better or worse than with the stock Bose HU?

Well most people say that the sucky part of the BOSE system is the HU. so most just cahnge that out and are happy, beside the rattles in the rear which could be fixed with dynamat.....but regardless you will need the PAC unit because from my understanding the Bose speakers run at 1 ohm so you need to convert that.
