Thinking about switching subwoofers

i am currently running a JBL GTI W12 and have been doing so for the past 2 weeks, but im thinking about switching subs, whats a good sub 12" for around 200-300, has anyone seen the new audiobahn immortal series?

my options are probably going to be a

brahma 12"
audiobahn immortal 12"
kicker L7

any others?

and if anyone is interested in purchasing my subwoofer, its 2 weeks old and i have the original box and etc...the sub was broken in for a week and i will sell for half of retail plus shipping

700rms per coil 4000 peak

I'm not familiar with that Audiobahn but most of stuff is just above flea-market crap. It won't come close to sounding as good as the Brahma or XXX (both use XBL^2 motors) or the RP-p (built by TC Sounds).

Call up RE at the phone number listed on their site. If you don't have a dealer in your area, they will sell you a sub factory direct. Otherwise you must go through a dealer. Soundsplinter subs are available at their site.

www.soundsplinter.com
www.reaudio.com

i just called reaudio and they quoted my 405 shipped for the 12" XXX which means i gotta wait and save up haha i found a brand new brahma 12 on ebay for 379+shipping just in case anyone was interested and the soundsplinter website wont let me purchase something about cant connect to server, and the price is reasonable 229, but with only 500 rms handling, it doesnt come close to the brahma/reaudio/jbl

I would definitely choose the brahma. $379 is the price off of the Adire Site, so I would just buy one off of there rather than go through ebay.

the brahma 12" and the RE XXX are about the same price...so with that in mind still the brahma? or what if i do go for one of these subwoofers, then i would have to wait till next month to purchase it. my friend just mentioned to me that his jbl w10 smells and was wondering if that was bad or not...ive never seen this problem before (if it is a problem) what does it mean when it smells?

The Brahma (Adire in general) is more SQ oriented and the XXX is a little more SPL oriented. Regardless, both are still good subs.

probably a fried voice coil...or just that JBL stinks (pun well-intended).

well orion has been around much longer than brahma (correct me if im wrong, and a bit more power handling? 400 rms is alot in my opinion. but one question what is the mounting depth of the brahma, im making a custom box in my spare tire well in the winter and dont want something too much like my jbl which was 10.25, if i can get one around say 8 inches that be perfect. im just trying to find the best subwoofer for around the 300 price range. and im still trying to sell my subwoofer, it goes for alot 599, but thats if you can find it, but hey whoever wants a sub that can hit hard and have good sq then your looking in the right place. so right now im basically looking at the brahma 12" and the orion h2 12.2", maybe i can even go 10 inches than have around 1000rms @ 2ohm or so. i basically want something that can hit as hard my jbl and have about the same sound quality.

True. But Adire is passionate about audio. Go to some car audio and home audio forums and read some of Dan Wiggins posts. He will help you design a sub box even if you didn't buy one of his products. Compare that with Orion's CEO and his postings (if there are any).

Power handling is only a major concern if you are into SPL and want to burp your sub. Most subs will reach full excursion way before max power is fed to them. Brahma power handling

so anyone have any idea what that smell is? if the sub is still hitting hard as the the first day, would a fried or damaged coil still produce the same sound?
