Signal Loss after installing new H/U

I have a 2002 SE, I took out my nonBose stock radio and installed a Kenwood EZ500. I purchased the antenna adapter from car domain. with the new H/U in i have crappy FM and AM reception. Did I install the adapter the wrong way? anyone else have this problem? should i install a booster?

Did you hook up the power antenna wire? If so, then its just the fact that you changed the Nissan diversity antenna to a single antenna system. This is done by using the adaptor and applies to all.

on a related topic, I noticed that once I had my ne HU installed my FM reception is great (at least as good as before) but my AM is lousy. I hooked up the power antenna lead and used the standard diversity adapter. Did anyone else experience this or am I the only one that occasionally listens to sports talk radio.

Its all due to the loss of a dual antenna setup, by using the adaptor its then downgraded to a single. Some experience it with FM, some AM, some no problems at all. Location does also come into play....
