Door panels, deadening
Door panels, deadening
I want to sound deaden my doors. Is there a how to for taking off the door panels and applying the material? I know everyone says taking the panels off is easy but if there's a how to with pics I would be the one to need it most. And by the way, SWEETSOUND2001's how to won't link correctly anymore (it was the greatest how to for sound deadening)
I just used my Haynes' manual, you should buy one, I love mine for 15 bucks. As for the actual deadening, I just kind covered everything I was allowed to cover on both sides of the inner door panel and the outer doorpanel. Make sure you don't put any deadening on the track for the windows, lol, I found out the hard way.
make sure you ad a couple layers to the outside door skin, a couple layers to the inside skin, and a layer on the door panel itself. Also, try to cover up all of the holes in the door frame. It'll sound amazing when ur done.
I used a combination of deadening sheets (Dynamat generic equivalent) and viscoelastic spray (like Noisekiller Gray for example). The sheets go on the metal and the spray can go over the sheets. If you use spray, just cover up the tracks and anything else you don't want coated with aluminum foil. Silicone can be used for bolts and other parts that rattle. Theres a bunch of pics on page 5 of my homepage.
