everytime i feel my bass has been somewhat lowered, i gotta pull over and roll the sub up, since it always stays upside down after some extreme driving.
i usually have my sub facing back, and at the end of the day, it's always facing down, my left side of the sub grill got bent >.<
but i found a solution, i know have the sub facing forward, so even if it rolls the sub will face up at worst.
GHETTO!
all i did was built a box so big that it didnt have a choice but to stay still. the box inside my trunk is 12 cubic ft. so all i have room for is an extra battery, a few amps, and various other goodies. my spare tire rides propped up on the floor, leaning against my backseat and against the back of my driver's seat. you cant see it from outside the car and 98% of the time i only ride with one other person anyways. so get your spare out of the trunk and throw some spaekers in there thats why car manufacturers made trunks
.
.
My box sits with the subs facing the spare wheel well because I need to secure it. But it you take an L bracket and either secure it to the back of the seat, the floor or the rear deck everything should be A ok.
I don't think velcro will stick to my Nissan Trunk Mat. I have the nice one from Nissan. Also I have a box with 2 12s and velcro will only hold it for a few minutes until I hit a bump or take a sharp turn.
i'm sorry, i just got back into town from the thanksgiving holidays. yeah im serious i do have a 12 cubic ft. box in my trunk. i need to get a digital camera from my friend to take some pics. my system is:
0. 12 cubic ft. box in the trunk
1. 2 Digital Design 15's 9515 series
2. 2 Directed 1100d amps
3. 1 optima yellow top battery
4. 1 crossfire vr404 amp (mids and highs)
5. 2 audiocontrol EQT's (in trunk eq's)
6. 1 generic brand capacitor
7. orion cobalt series 6 * 9's in rear shelf
8. crossfire sq6 components in the front
9. alpine 7894 head unit
10. mmats mp5 in dash eq
item #'s 1 - 6 are all in the trunk with the 12 cubic ft. box

yeah i tested it for spl on one of the old mics at a competition a while back and pulled a 158.6 with amps turned down because the second battery that was in the trunk was unhooked, so i think i couldve done a whole lot better.
the 12 cu. ft. box is ported, with both speakers sharing the same airspace, and tuned to 45 hz and it's loud. and before the sq guys complain it doesnt sound like poo. i play down to 20 hz with this port and still sounds good, and for more sound quality i partition off the port, so it will be tuned to 30 hz for all of the other earth shaking non audible bass.

wait wait did you just say you play it down to 20hz with your box tuned to 45...are you nuts? 45 is no sq either. but 158 on an old mic, that'd be like still over 150 on a new termlab, that's disgusting. was your seat down? (do 4th gen rear seats even go down?) or was just that center part down..
yeah a little nuts
lol. yeah i play down to 20hz, its not for a long time but it will still catch those notes when the port is tuned to 45hz. these subs can take a lot of abuse (believe me). no the rear seats dont fold down in 4th gens, i just took the entire rear seat off when i metered the 158.6. im still working on getting that digital camera from my friend so that i can take some pics of my setup.
