Viper 791XV Question

For some reason my remote doesn't want to work anymore. Everytime I hit a button it makes the beeping noise like its out of range. I assume it needs to be reprogrammed. Does any know how to does this?

The only time my remote does this is when the battery is low. If it needs to be reprogramed your going to have to get someone with a programming module to do it. It's not a DIY job.

You are wrong twice.

First of all, when your battery dies, it does not lose it's programming memory.

2nd of all, to program the remote it is very simple. And IT IS a DIY job.

I was saying when your remote battery was dying not the car battery.
Also whats with the sarcasm I was just trying to give him some suggestions of what the problem might be.

A little FYI...Stay away from AUTO IMAGE on rt 1 in Edison NJ. I tried to go there today to have the remote reprogrammed but they said i had to wait for them to do 2 alarm installs and 3 tint jobs...They couldn't take the five minutes to take care of my problem( a paying customer). They don't back up their work at all. And also they can't tint cars to save their lives...Not to mention the guy who works the counter there, knows nothing about audio or installation at all. Kind of makes me wonder why the heck I got my car done there.

ok now back to the problem....for me i have problems in the cold, i dunno why, maybe where i placed the brain...also if your remote has low battery it may be a bit weaker. IF you do run out of battery on the remote, then just place a new one in it and be WITHIN range of the alarm and press the lock a few times, it will re Sync itself. If you want to 100% reprogram a new remote or redo yours. look in the manual, you have to like hold teh valet button and turn the key some place and press a certain button on the remote, is it DIY job. other than this, maybe change the location of your antenna...im doing this soon because my range sucks at night. hope that helps.

i'm having the same out of range issue. sometimes when i try to unlock or lock the car it doesn't work and says its out of range.

but if i hit aux and then either lock/unlock it works.

are you guys saying that its a bad remote?

i have two remotes. one for the wife and one for myself. i use mine all the time and she hardly uses hers. Hers works properly.

confused...
