Add tax, shipping and all the accessories and it will be much more. Go with Don, he's got the best price.

this is a pic of the eclipse NAVi - borrow pic form KCMC582 -installed by DON

I think eclipse has CD and dvd ROM, the good thing is the screen sits inside instead of pioneer sticking outside and blocking the A/C vent. other words the looks more OEM. I think the funtion is more avdanced the Pioneer's AVIC-N1 .
I've heard Pioneer is coming out with a AVIC-N2 soon.
I'm waiting for the eclipse to drop in price, I know it won't happen any time soon.

I don't think the any of these are more "advanced" than Pioneer because they develop the technology. I think the new AVIC is coming out in March.

Edit: From what I've read, the biggest difference between the N2 and N1 is that the new one has this XM Nav traffic feature that shows accidents and other things real time on the roads so you can reroute your drive. A pretty cool feature but I don't know if it is worth the wait/money.

Don, I'm about to buy a 2001 Infiniti I30, with the same Bose I guess as the Maximas, I have a 98 Maxima now. But for the Infiniti, I'm looking to get an in-dash with Navigation and DVD, etc. I don't like the Pioneers, cause I have a 6500DVD now and it covers the vents like in teh previous reply. Its really annoying. Why is Eclipse so expensive, what do they have special, and are they any good? Also, I was interested in the Kenwood DDX7015 screen cause it sits there as well. If you can get that one wtih Navigation, how much? I am also a member of Maxima.org
Thanks

The Eclipse products are more expensive typically due to being a "higher end" product. The have been known to be the leaders in HUs to the Audiophiles for years. They are also the only company right now that offers this product. All in one, as well as no seperate 'brain'.

Eclipse also offers a 3 year warranty as opposed to most others 1 year. As well as a year of theft replacement. If it gets stolen from your vehicle they will replace it at no cost to you.

Kenwood would honestly be my l;ast choice of HUs as I warranty them regularly. They break more than anything else I carry X10.

Don,
Since you sell them, I'm gonna take your word for it. I've had 2 Pioneer systems, only the 6500DVD gave me a little bit of problems, the screen went bad, and I had to submit it for warranty. I used to have a P7000CD before that. But I need a Navigation system in my car. So I need to get a screen for my tuner, cd player, etc. I was looking at eclipse (from your advice).
I was mostly interested in the AVX2494. I have a double din radio in my Infiniti, but I don't want a flipout, so I was checkin that one out, it looks really nice. Either that one, or if its too expensive, I'd consider getting the AVX2404, but I prefer the first one considering the 20G hard drive, etc. Do you think you could get me one of those, if so, how much? I'd appreciate it, thanks. You can email me direct at elpapito04@aol.com, or PM me.
Thanks
Alex

And one more thing, if I purchase one of these screens from Eclipse, what kind of Navigation system would I have to buy, because I don't think the Pioneer Navigation systems are compatible with any other screens but ones made by Pioneer. I just read about the AVN2450, what's the difference between that one and the one w/ the Hard Drive, b/c the hard drive seems to be really handy. If I just want the AVX, is there a seperate Navigation system that Eclipse makes that I could connect to this so I can have the hard drive andrecording features. Sorry for all the questions, I'm just seriously in the market, so Im curious b4 I purchase.

NOT FLAMMING anyone but, the N1 IMHO is a POS... unless you use Navi 24/7.. i would look into the Eclipse piece or even the Kenwood DVD/NAV. They are way more versitile and give you more options if you wanna add amps in your car.

What would you consider to be more versatile? I know that my N1 came with 3 preouts, complete subwoofer controls and sufficient equalization tools. What more would I need for my 2 amps?
