an IMPORTANT HU question, big idea

im putting in a clarion HU and im only going to run (2)rear 6"x9"s
my HU is 50wx4channels

im not going to use the stock wiring
can i splice the two front positive into the rear positive wires?
and do the same for the negative wires
and make 100w by 2 channels

my speakers are 160 MAX watts
and i'd use 14g wire

anyone see any probleems with this?

Head Units are not designed to allow bridging channels. It will go into protect if lucky or it will blow up.

Like posted above..a big nono of what Not to do. Aside from that also..dont believe that your actually getting 50W X 4, more typically about 12-20 X 4

When HU's say 50x4 it means 50x4 Maximum. I think they do it like that for marketing and eye catching. The RMS is typically half of the Max.
