I guess I will be the only one to say Eclipse aluminum. I had 2 12's and they POUNDED nicely with my dual 800 watt Fosgates.

I agree on the XXX ( www.bladeice.com )
The DD9515 is more of an SPL sub. For an SPL application, the DD will compete and/or beat depending on enclosure and power. http://www.ddaudio.com
I will never own another JL product. Although an extremely good product, very overpriced IMO.
The Timult is a great alternative. Sharing the XBL2 motor assembly with the Brahma and the XXX.

I would choose either the Brahma or Timult.

The Brahma and the XXX are both on back order. Worth the wait!!

P.S. slickrick, I am moving to your neck of the woods soon. I will have to get your # when I do. Feb sometime. Keep an eye out for the Jan CFMA meet thread.

nope, he doesnt have a site. once i finish my install ill show pics, he still has to run through my amp and make it 1 ohm stable and change the crossover so i can db drag at iasca. cost a grand for the speaker and amp. i am not a sucker either. plus in the event i ever blow the amp or the sub, he will rebuild it for free. hes riding up to iasca with me and my friends so he can rebuild them on site if they blow and watch what they can do.

I think it depends on what kind of deal you get. I got a really good deal on my Eclipse DVC aluminum 12" but I think if I could have bought a brahma for the same price, I would go with that. The Eclipse is a great sub, but man, those brahma's really move some air...

Since the XXX and Brahma are back ordered, you might want to look at Ascendant Audio. The owner is well known among the home theater DIY crowd and is a professional theater installer. He has licensed the XBL^2 technology from Adire. Most of the drivers are still being delivered to the warehouse but here's the specs for the 15" Atlas ($329).
Fs 15.7 Hz
Qms 3.5
Qes .34
Qts .305
Vas 300.6 liters
Re 3.2 ohms
Znom 4 ohms
Sd 749 cm^2
xmax 27+

The 12" should have similar parameters.

Neither.....go IDMAX. It has more SQ IMO and plays super loud still, not quite that or a Brahma, but damn near. Eclipse is better then Brahma IMO too. I like loud but tight, not just loud.

IMO the Brahma can play very tight, and still remain accurate when the volume is high.
