i just got a jl audio 12w3v2 dual 2ohm voice coil. i also have an old soundstream rubicon 702.....should i wire the sub in series or parallel? right now i have it powering 2 soundstream exact 12 4ohms(i know big downgrade but i need trunk space for my new job)

 

does anyone here know how to wire a sub?

 

negative to negative, positive to positive i believe is parallel dropping the ohm load down, and series will ohm it up to 4 ohms

 

yeah i know par. is dropping and series is upping it...im wondering since my amp puts out 700 watts at 1 ohm load in par if the sub is gonna combust...i know jl underrates their subs but soundstream does the same to thier amps. either way i think wired in par i will be doing 700x1 or 350x2 and wired in series i will be doing 150x1 or 300x2 and the sub is rated for 300wrms. i just dont wanna blow it up.
