corrosion from battery terminals
i have a lot of corrosion under my hood around the battery terminals and even on the battery tie down rod..
what is corrosion caused by? also is there anyway to stop it from happening or slow the corrosion process down so it doesnt occur as much?

There are some products out there at your local auto parts store that you can apply to get rid of and prevent battery terminal corrosion. It is typically caused by condensation, either from the battery itself or from nature. Most people get rid of it by using a wire brush to scrape it off the terminals, connectors and tie downs but like I said before there are products available to help you get rid of it. A build up of acid on your battery could lead to poor connectivity, loss of electrical power. A solution of water and baking soda also is good for cleaning them. Hope this helps.
there's no stupid questions
i'd go and check with autozone or some other car parts store. i'm sure they'll have something. i think i got mine from autozone or oreilly's, don't remember exactly, it's been awhile.
