ITS BEEN FOREVER SINCE I Post... I got a led/gauge question

Ok, hey everyone hows everything going??? My comp has been down now for like 4months, and i've been busy with school, work, and uh.... school... I'm finally getting a chance to post.... Well this is the news... my alternator went out, so I got a new alternator.... I need new tires... and well I'm in the process of hopefullying getting a g35... But anyhow right now that i Have the maxima (my baby) we ran into a problem... a month or so ago... I had my so called professional installer (my home boy) install a radio unit i got from my chick... so we take apart the center console, and get the wire harness... blah blah blah... well we come into a little problem... the two harnesses that i have dont seem to be wired correctly ( i got one from wal-mart, and the other from best-buy) or they seem to be missing wires... so my head unit doesnt work... he starts touch wires to wires... trying to figure out what does what, whats the power source, etc.... well sure enough he touches a wire that turns on the dash lights,... and they come on every time he touches the wires together... he keeps doing this and we come upon a wire that he touches...my dash light come on and go out.... HE BLEW THE FUSE.. so fck.... I dont have a fuse... and I need those lights for driving at night.... he goes about and ghetto rigs my fuse (strands of copper wire) and inserts them in to the little fuse box.... it worked.... so agin we;re testing wires and trying to get my radio working... when again he touched a wire..... and bam... my dash lights went out.... but now for good. I got new fuses and went thru all the fuses to see if theres one thats bad... all are good in the little fuse box inside... my taillights dont come on.... my dash lights dont work... i get my (oil, check engine, air bad, abs...etc... green ac lights. on only) my white dash lights and window lights dont work...) my brake and turn signals work, and my head lights... but the back lights dont come on....what can it be???? what should i do... I took upon my self now that if its the bulbs are fried, i'll replace them with super white LEDS... i need help thou on doing my gauges... anyone have a site.???? I can check out??>?> I saw wariows site but i'll use that one for the certain consol... I want to do my windows and my gauges... any help??? Or any ideas of what it can be???? Thanks everyone one... lates

Alright I skipped over most of it, but I read "I want to do my windows and gauges..."

So here's a couple links for the gauges (taken from the How to's):
http://www.geocities.com/amixam69/nissan/dash/
also: http://www.richardjasaitis.com/MaximaDash.htm

And for a 95 you'll need 5 LEDs (I recommend buying from superbrightleds.com) for the gauge project... As far as you "wanting to do" the windows, I'm not sure what you mean.

And yes, next time you have a problem, please don't write a novel, just tell us the problem and we'll be happy to help.

the wire he was touching was either an illumination wire or a dimmer wire orange once right???
you dont need them to install a radio if they are hooked up disconnect themor you might burn your factory dimmer switch if nothing more if you have bose you will need to use a blue with a white wire coming from the harness of the radio and into the harness for the car connect them and you will need to ground a black with the white wire not on the radio harness on the harness you bought!!!
if your lights wont start working find a local alarm shop
most of them have knowlage in this and will help you out

And honestly the novel isnt so bad but with all the elipses, no breaks, and all one paragraph, I found myself reading the same line many many times. Try checking all your relays under the hood. If you blow the fuse and replace with wires, as you did, usually the next thing to blow is a relay. If its not that you probably fried a wire or two somewhere along the way. Good luck with the max. P.S. Fire you stereo installer.

I would take out the radio that is wired up in the car and tape off all the wires that belong to the car. This will ensure there is no short and you can begin properly troubleshooting.

Once you the radio is out and the stock wires are taped off, then check all your fuses, bulbs, relays, etc. Once you get the dash, tail and all your lights working, then go ahead and re-install the radio... properly.

Get yourself a Haynes manual, pays for itself and then some. And don't ask your "professional installer" to install anything anymore. Homeboy doesn't even have a test light ? He's figuring out what wires do by trial and error ? Not the guy I'd want working on my car.
