Most of the big companies are developing HUs for at least one of the formats (XM and Sirius). One of them already started broadcasting, still doing beta tests. The other starts later this year. It's only $10 per month, and it's commercial-free, so it's totally worth it. Plus you get to hear all kinds of new music that you wouldn't normally know about, instead of listening to the same CDs over and over.

HOWEVER, the compelling point you make is that I'd be exposed to new stuff that I wouldn't ordinarily listen to or have in MP3 format.

Wonder if I should wait .. wonder if Alpine is planning adding XM to their multimedia stations...

The advantage isn't as clear for me, given my setup. I already have zillions of MP3's and can listen to what I want when I want.

Yeah, plus they'll have exclusive stuff like live broadcasts of concerts and interviews with musicians. Then there is the talk radio choices that will be available, for when I don't feel like blasting music. It might not be for everybody, but I'm interested in it.
