Adire Audio - A few 12's at different price points and quality. They are all great values.
Sound Splinter - Built by TC Sounds. Excellent sound quality.
Elemental Design - Built by Image Dynamics. Haven't heard them but they do have a lot of fans. There are a few people critical of the owner though.
Dayton Audio - Parts Express house brand. The DVC and Titanic lines are great. The Quatro is an excellent bargain.
Ascendant Audio - The company has only been around a few weeks but the sub designer has been a DIY guy for years. Nothing but great reviews from the few subs that are out in customer's hands.
AE Speakers - Formerly Stryke Audio (until Rockford Fosgate sued him). The parts are still being shipped for the AV series but they are worth the wait. I have a pair of AV12's from the last batch. They are an incredible sub.
O Audio - Same sub as the Soundsplinter RPL-i (low end model) 12".
Resonant Engineering - Different drivers at different price points. All of them are a good value.
I'll keep adding sites as I think of them.

I took Robert's advice and bought a 10" dvc from Soundsplinter. I am more than just a little impressed with the sound and output that this sub puts out, specially at $159 dollars. I bought an RL-i series sub, the lower line of the two lines they carry. From my experience with he RL-i sub I would think their Premium line the RL-p would be a great subwoofer. Mike the owner is a really nice guy, and he will answer any questions you have. I plan on buying another sub from him for my wife's car.

If you did want JL, go with the 12 W6 second gen. They hit as hard and IMO sound better than the W7. It really depends upon what you like. I'm in the market for some new ones myself. Right now I'm running 2 10" Punch DVC's (HX2 gen 1) in my trunk in a ported box (man what a difference a correctly tuned ported box can make). These will be up for sale if someone wants them. Will sell them separately. But 12's are definitely the way to go and you also may want to ask 1 of the moderators in the Audio section name PearlMax aka Don. He can get you some great deals on stereo equipment.

i had one 15" powerbass extreme sub in my trunk of my accord, and even with dynamat, i couldnt stop the vibrations lol... powerbass extreme is their top model, and they are very good quality, especially for the price (i think)... if you go to their site, they also give you the dimensions to get the best sound quality out of their subs... http://www.powerbassusa.com but their site seems to be running slow as h3ll...

Just got my 12" eclipse titanium setup finally. It went into a 3.2 cu feet box per the recommended volume specs from eclipse. This box is damn huuuge! I got the woofer for 320+shipping on ebay (ened up being about 350 since the thing was like 40 lbs and handling). It's still breaking in but sounds alot better then the dual 10w3's i had before. I've never owned an eclipse product before, but it's defiantly a solid built crazy looking woofer, with a gigantic fat almost 2" sorround and a titanium cover that really looks cool.
here's a pic of my trunk install:

Get whatever is cheap and build the perfect box for it. No matter what the sub, it will sound as good as any of the subs you have listed ... maybe better due to better efficiency.
www.mcmelectronics.com has a bunch of generic subs that would do perfectly.

thanks 2damax;
I got it setup for 1000 rms @ 2 ohms. This amp does 2ohms stable, and it's a class d monoblockl. The tuning setup is freaking awesome it's all digital and very easy to use. I'm still wondering if i should make a cover to hide all the wires or something as someone suggested.

i just found out the box was way too big, alot of people are sporting 1 cubic foot boxes. (smacks head).
The manual is confusing and i wasn't sure what VAS was, me and my friend thought the sealed box should be 3.2 cu feet, so we made it that way...
So i guess in a few weeks i'll make another box, and maybe a raised floor like i was saying with the holes in it. : /
