My dealer just showed me some new xclusive products for alpine and eclipse for 2005

well not the products itself but the catalog. Alpine made some beautiful looking V12 amps, as well as components and subs. The new typeR subs are called the Hamr series and are real hot! they run more cooler and instead of the 300rms they run 500rms. The new alpine amps look real sleek and have a big blue screen, and total new design. They also made some sexy Hu's

As for the eclipse products.....lets just say.... THOSE ARE SOME SICK **** TVs!! it sucks the HU faces arent detachtable though.

neways just thought i shared that with yal.

I've seen the pics of both the new alpine and eclipse headunits. The alpines are sexy, the eclipses are just too audiobahn for me.

Eclipse didnt change any of their TVs, with the exception of the AVN series, just added a bit more to them. Monitors themselves are still the same. I posted all theinfo awhile back on here....

They Never made detach faces. Thats what the ESN coding is for. Also to add..the theft replacement in the event it does get stolen they will replace it within the first year of ownership. Of course the Three year warranty helps as well.

Thats why Eclipse has always been my best seller. Although the '05 HUs are not at all attractive, I guess Ill see where it goes...

Yes theres now two AVNs..The AVN 5435 and the AVN5495. The 5495 has the 30Gig HD and will be released somewhere around April. The 5435 should be available sometime next month.

Yes the theft coverage is if dealer installed as well as the warranty.

Im in Edison NJ, at least an Hour from you. Yes I do fiberglass work, but I have a sponser car coming in shortly, that will take up the majority of my fabrication time before the spring season hits.

That is the only reason that I never went with an Eclipse HU. I really like their HU, but not all thiefs know about Eclipse's ESN, especially the ones in Mexico (I go down there once in a while). I do not feel like dealing with a busted door lock, broken window, or beat up dash, all possibilities.

My brother told me about them back in 1994. Later on when I went looking for a new HU I had them in mind (eventhough I really like Alpine, I was going to give Eclipse a shot) that is when I found out they were not detachable . If they do change this before I get another car I will definately consider them for that vehicle.

Nothing in particularly 'wrong' with them, but I believe as the majority of my regular customers do that its not giving the best bang for the buck. I think in comparison to Eclipse you get more product for your money, longer warranty,etc...

HUs aside other companies that I deal with regularly would be Arc, Diamond,Rainbow,Alumapro,PG,etc...So Im not at all worried about subs,amps,processors,etc...

If it didnt cost me anything to keep Alpine, then I probably would. Unfortunately they want all dealers to hit certain numbers and I dont wish to push the products on people.

Actually I still have one Kicker amp it is a ZX460 (4ch. amp). It's been a very good amp. I can't really remember exactly when I bought it, maybe around 1997. That thing just does not die. I even had it running at 2ohm mono for a while (the rear channels) after I messed up my sub amp. I actually messed it up a little the last time I was rearranging stuff back there. I over tightend (really over) the power and ground connections and now they are cracked, but the thing is still going strong. Now that Alpine is introducing their new stuff and selling their older stuff at reasonable prices, I may scoop up one of their V12 4ch amps to go with my new MRD-M501. Hopefully I can get as good a deal as I did on the M501.

Actually I was thinking of the V12 ones. They are coming out with new ones that look like their new AccuClass D amps. So hopefully they will drop the prices on their current models .

I am thinking about getting one of these:

Here is one of their new 4ch. amps:

ALPINE OWNS ALLL!!

jk

i was looking at pioneer awile back, but when i saw them selling at the flea market and pepboys that really turned me off. But i know pioneer has the premier series which are reallly good, but still thats just me.

na no lie, my dealer lovessss sony bro. she tells me that sony has the high end crap, and the good stuff. what i had was more to the high end one, that was a tough amp bro. I just put that amp through so much shiet you wont believe it. she has the 1600 watt sony xplod amp in her car powering 2 kicker l7s. i think they sound ok.

But for some reason i dont know why im so caught up with the name Alpine, maybe i watch too much pimp my ride shows

2 Da Max, I watched that show last night, they pimped out a Nissan 240SX. Made it look like the one on Need For Speed. It was cool to see the poor kid get his car fixed up. I tought it was too ricey, but as long as he is happy that is all that matters.

I am partial to Alpine too. Iv'e had good experiences with their stuff. I do agree with Don that they are not always the best bang for the buck. My favorite Alpine setup I had was a CDA-7949 hooked up with a fiberoptic cable to my PXA-H600 digital phase processor. The Burr Brown DA converters made a noticeable difference in sound. Too bad my current HU (CDA-7998) does not have the optical output like the 7998 models sold in Australia and Europe , otherwise I would have kept the processor.

Is the AVN2454 new for '05 or did they just keep it the same as the one in '04?

The 2454 is still the currently mass produced AVN system. Which will later be dropped being replaced by the 5435 and 5945. Expect to see the 2454 disappearing somewhere around summer time.

Actually I took out the JL amps and Gave them away. Most horrible amps Ive ever had to endure. They were from my rep, so I was somewhat obligated to use them. 3 weeks was long enough for me.

I left mostly the rest of the trunk the way the pics were, although not sure if your aware but I sold that car about almost 2 years ago now. The kid just got his license and practically destroyed the car. Although it was His $12,700 that paid for it.

Advice please !

Next week I will get either a CD5435 or a CD5425 Eclipse unit, I'm not planning to add an amplifier at the moment I will be running the head unit with eclipse speakers, but I'm still struggling to decide which of those units to get since I've been quoted 349.90 and 229.90 respectively, it's 120 bucks that I'm not sure if they are worth for a remote control and wma capability.
Any feedback it's really appreciate it.

both units are basically the same, with 3 pairs of pre outputs at 5V and an output of 50W x 4.
As I said, the mayor difference is the wma capability besides that it looks to be only some "nice to have" features.
You can take a look at

Does anyone have any pictures or know where I can take a look at the new AVN units. Eclipse's web site has not yet been updated and I have yet to find anything online.

Thanks! Has any one heard anything good or bad about the AVN5435. The salesman that I have been dealing with convinced me to wait for the new unit since it has SIRIUS capability. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
