Deck testing with AC adapter???

I am interested in setting something up inside my house for testing different decks. I would assume I would just need a 12v ac adapter, but how many amps do I need?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

look up the specs for a few head units online and see what their amp consumption is. I would guess no more than a few amps.

if you are only testing to see that the decks work, something with about five amps should be plenty, but if you want to turn up the volume all the way on them, you might want to go with 10 to 15 amps

go to radio shack and pick up a 10 amp 13.8volt supply. it has a cigarette lighter socket, and binding posts. im not sure how much it is cause i had mine for about 2 years. it comes in very handy. it's regulated at 13.8 volts so if you draw more current the voltage will not drop below 13.8. and i might add that the regulation is extremely good for the price. I tested it and saw only a .1 drop in voltage at 10 amps.
