installed cd player now taillights, instrument lights dont work

well the title sums it up. i put a cd player in a friends car and wired up everything the way i thought was correct. now his taillights and instrument panel lights dont work. the only thing i can think of is the two orange wires on the new harness, i connected both to the single orange wire on the deck. these said something about panel lights or whatever. anyone got any help for me.

check the fuses?? also look for open ended wires touching any metal behind the cd player that may cause a short..duct tape them up

disconnect the orange wire, should say illumination. that doesn't need to be hooked up.

You should never be doing this

You basically shorted out the illumniation wire and blew a fuse.. DISCONNECT this replace fuse, and hope you didnt burn something else out

it's possible that you hooked up to a dimmer control which can blow that fuse. so check your wiring again and replace that fuse.
