Door sound deadening ?'s

When sound deadening the door did you reapply the plastic liner inside the door panel? Is there any risks on not putting it back on? (rust).

Thanks

the plastic liner is there to keep water/moisture that enter the doors away from the door panel and connections- you should reapply it

Are you going to do the whole door? Wouldn't it be ok just to do behind the speaker? I know doing the whole door would probably reduce road noise but Im just looking for a little more punchiness in the mid-bass. I have seen those dynamat sheets that are sold as accessories with speakers that just apply to the area behind the speaker. Would that do the trick? I really don't want to deaden the whole door...and dynamat is sooo expensive.
Im trying to figure this out before I get some components for the front so I don't have to pull the door panel off more than once more.

search for something other than dynamat. You can find other cheaper alternatives

Dynamat for sound attenuation is what JL Audio is to the mobile stereo market - effective but highly overpriced. There are a number of good alternatives, do a search for Brown Bread, peel 'n seal, rammatt, eDead, and a host of others I am sure I am forgetting. I have also heard of people using shelf liner as an alternative to the aforementioned products, but I don't see this as being a viable recommendation as [it] will not be suited to dampen rattles that may occur due to an increase in vibrations.
