cap is just a bandaid, don't bother. Upgrade the Big 3 and test your battery first.

Get better wire. I doubt you need a capacitor.

I have 0 ga. and I don't have any dimming issues. I know Pearl96Max has 4 ARc Audio amps and 0ga and doesn't have any dimming issues either and he plays his music LOUD. 2ga or 4ga will work.

If you have one amp you can do 4ga from the battery back to the amp. If you have two amps you can do 4ga to a distribution block and then 4ga or 8ga from there to each amp.

What is it exactly that makes you think you need a cap? Size amp? power wire run?etc..Like posted above its just a bandaid to a rather larger issue.

Check your alternator, and reground all of your high current grounds.

i think it was directed at Tek-Niq, for what reason i don't know

but it never fails that a moderator swoops in like a falcon to follow up with a bitter cheap shot - both comments are uncalled for imo

but back to business,
Rick, I've been told that getting a yellow top optima battery can solve dimming issues, its marketed as "deep cycle" but you can replace your main battery with it
i haven't gotten one that fits in my max yet, but it should def. fix the dimming issues
a 1 farad cap on those subs isnt gonna do squat
the reason its dimming on bassy (spelling?) songs because there is too much power draw

Swoops in? Im here all day everyday.

Cheap shot? Show me where Tek-Niq said or did something offensive...

In YOUR opinion they both may have been uncalled for, but yet I still see nothing wrong with what Tek-Niq posted, he was simply trying to help with info. Not giving somebody the 'finger'. Further more, your first statement..
"i think it was directed at Tek-Niq, for what reason i don't know" So obviously there your saying you didnt find anything offensive either. You then contradict with..."both comments are uncalled for imo"

Caps are totally worthless...look at the majority of SPL and SQ competitors, you will not find a strike cap, but that is not to say the the alternator has not been upgraded.

Not being hastily 'mean' just getting my point across, very clearly. As fact as stating the facts, it was uncalled for.

In addition, I still tried to help him with his problem, but he has yet to answer, but to respond to other posts.

well at any rate, the point was he clicked the wrong icon by mistake - the problem with the middle finger icon is that the happy face starts waving and then it turns into a middle finger so you dont expect it

this of course was the cause of the improper icon being used which then caused you slam the gavel down in all directions which caused me to say hey, wtf ...

and thats fine, if he made a mistake its a dealable situation. Like I said originally. IF he kept it up...He corrected it, and thats fine. Although like I said HE deleted his own posts, so I had to go in a read them.

If you really NEED a capacitor, you amps have poorly designed power supplies.....Caps were big in the 80's because it actually helped systems back then- you current day amps are much better designed and if you have dimming issues is because your amps current demands exeed that that can be drawn- increase wire size, as well as grounds-

Try drinking ice cream though a straw....yeah...its not easy for your electrical either

New alternator would solve that. Although changing all of your grounding points should prove to be very beneficial. Especially in Nissans where there wiring tends to lack a bit.
