does it fluctuate with engine rpm? i'm guessing its a bad ground somewhere.

If it's not fluctuating with the engine RPMs like Fosgate Fan asked, you might also want to check your RCA cords and the RCA connections to the HU and the amp. This might also explain why the sound is fading in and out.

Is that area painted? If so, sand it down.

you should check the connections behind your HU. That might make sense as to why it just all of sudden happen, if an RCA came loose.

I think I would try moving the ground to a different place. Also, when you ran your wiring, did you run your speaker wires or rca plugs next to your battery wire to your amp? If so, this can cause noise. I would bet its the ground though, I'd try moving it to a different place first. One more thing, if you have power coming from the fuse panel, might want to try a different fuse.

no!!! its a class d amp and cannot be used for components not even taking into account that 300 watts per side would murder his comps. hes already been instructed to used the KICKER amp to run the subs with and see if its a wiring issue,

ok, I didn't know it was a class D amp. anyway, I didn't mean for him to crank it up, just try and see if the screeching was still there. I've had trouble like this before and I'm just trying to help the guy.

Assassinroon- only other thing I can think of is maybe a bad rca plug. I've had it happen to me once, and I sent my amp off to be fixed, they sent it back, charged me $150 and come to find out, it was an rca plug. Now I troubleshoot before sending anything off. Good luck.

no problem. i just did not want him to read this and do it because he wanted to do that also but i told him to use the kicker amp on the subs. i still think its somewhere in the integrity of the install...

i have the SAME prob, but i didnt even install an amp yet. its coming from my rear stock speakers, which are going to be replace anyway, but i dont want this noise coming when i install new speakers. by the way, when i was installing my front speakers i tore off the adapter and the wire was a bit short, so i just used regular home speaker wire to extend it, is that ok, or do i need to buy car audio wire cuz it might be shielded.

You said earlier that the noise is in tune with the engine and gets "louder" when you rev the engine. Do you actually mean it gets louder, or that the pitch goes up and down with the engine rpms?

You also wrote: "Today i found my found was fading in and out and now this screech noise is here!" What do you mean your found (sound?) was fading in and out? Did you resolve that or is that still a problem too?

And finally, is it truly a screaching sound, or just a whine?

If it's alternator whine, then it's most likely a poor ground. I guess we need more info, if what we've been suggesting is not working.

okay tony ill give ya some answers

The pitch goes up with the rpms isnt that the same thing as getting louder?
Yes sometimes my sound fades really low but that has stopped for now
And its more of a whine so im guessing its a alternator whine.

I check the grounds on the amp sanded them down and the head unit ground is fitted. What else cna i do ?>
