I recently bought a 96 Maxima GLE and the BOSE CD/Tape radio unit doesn't work at all. No sound whatsoever. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. The lights in the buttons do come on, but the LCD will not light up or show anything. Please help, its hard without a radio. Thanks

Yes, thats Bose. Invest in an aftermarket deck.

OR... get a 99 bose unit its works fine. for me.. i love it..

 

Bose blows. I would get an aftermarket deck (and you'll need aftermarket speakers). My 97's bose works ok, but the half blown front left speaker can't be replaced except with another blowse or one of those silly kits to adapt it to a mainstream speaker. I hate that these cars come with bose as the stock stereo system. It's all proprietary and stupid.

 

head unit is gone either send it back to clarion 125.00 or buy anotherone off e-bay it dosen't matter what year between 91-99 might have to buy wiring plugs from best buy it did the trick for me i have 93 maxima with 96 bose unit works great for those who change the units there's a problem if u should ever to decided to trade to your car in the dealer will give u more if is a factory bose unit
