Newbie looking for hard hitting bass

My friend is going to sell me a Hifoniks Brutus 1500W amp. Just wondering if it hits hard, and if anyone has experience. Also, i am looking at the Alpine Type-X. Is there a warranty on that sub? because even though it says 1000 RMS, my friend blew one on his 1300W infinity amp at half power. Just wondering, and thanks for the help in advance.

an amp doesn't "hit hard" without a good sub/box combination. what are you planning to connect that amp to?

with that amp... it begs RE XXX...not many subs can handle that amp at 1 ohm safely.

that amp will own a type x. The reason your friend blew his type x is because he was running the sub at half power, effectivly chokeing the sub and running it into distortion. I personally have a brutus, and it pounds the hell out of my two Concept zt-124 woofers. Its a very very strong amp and can run almost anything out there with in reason that is

Definately go with the BX1500. I have used Hifonics amps before and they are great for the price.

Definately look at the RE XXX, and the DD Audio 3500 and 9500 series subs too.

You could get two Type X hooked up to that amp.
