i narrowed down the problem on why my rcas dont work from my hu!! read!! need help 2

ok so i took my rcas from my hu and plugged it to my friends amp and no sound, i was like wtf. so i then plugged the rcas from my hi low adapter to his amp and they were playing on his subs.

so the rcas on the hu work with the dealers harness. this could only mean one thing the wiring on my harness is bad??

on the unit i have
i have power to power red to red
memory to memory yellow to yellow
blue turn on to blue turn on, with amp turn on on it as well
orange illumination to itself
ground to chasis

on the cars harness i have
black on the wiring harness taped up to itself.

what could be wrong, wtf? thats it right? why arent my rcas not working in my car??? what could be the problem guys? neeed help asap

dont the rca's plug ifnto the cd player and not into the harness?

umm..i'm not sure..if you have a circuit city and a spare $30 or so i HIGHLY recommend getting thier wireing harnesses. One plugs into ur cd player and the other plugs into the car adapter and they are universal in the middle. so they just all plug right in and theres no wiring involved

Did YOU verify that the HUs outputs work, or did you just take your dealers word for it?

If it doesnt work in your car OR your friends, then sounds like a HU problem to me.

try gettin a new harness, maybe one of the wires or leads on the harness melted. dunno what else to tell ya, unless maybe try to unwire your connections and wire them back up to see what happens. did the rca's used to work before , i mean did they just go out on their own one day or did it happen when you switched the hu? good luck.

Stop focusing on the wiring of the HU. If you have power to turn it on and the amps turn on, then your fine. Signal and power are sperate issues.

Why are you using a hi/low adapter if your HU has RCA outs? SInce you said the RCAs from your hi/low work on your friends subs, did you try to run that same RCA to whatever it is you're trying to get signal to?

take it to Don, he'll prolly get the bugs out...and give you a good smack if it's something simple like a lose connection or something.

everyting thats happening right now is what happened to my xplod amp and kicker sub. i had the gains all the way up bass boost all the way up and lpf alll the way up. now it sounded clean and it bassed hard, now when that ground wire on the amp came loose the main fuse under the hood blew. once i changed the fuse the amp was like new, gain couldnt been pass halfway or sound distorted same with bass boost and lpf, but the thing is the rca output from the hu was louder

i know i know, but my dealer is like 10 seconds away from me, and i love that store, and i trust them and im cool with them. Thats like my toy store, i never go in there one day and not be happy with all the products i see. I would come to you but the only thing that was holding me back was that you were in Jersey. I didnt know how far out you were or not. I mean others told me how Polo got all his stuff from you, so i thought you just dealt with top of the line products and people who only wanted expensive and highend equitment. i never thought i would get so into car audio. I mean if i needed something i would go to my dealer, but now its like i go their for everything.

I understand and yes I do deal with Alot of 'higher' end equiptment but I also sell alot of generic/entry level products as well.

Half of the people that come/came to me end up coming back just to BS. I talk to a ton of them on AIM and on the phone as well. Im Very personal with everyone and they get my full attention, not sales pitches.
