Ipod hooked up to Clarion/Bose 503/2083D

Please help!

I am attempting to hook up an IPOD to my 95 Maxima Clarion/Bose 503/2083D radio. I figured that I could use the unused multi-disc CD changer input tied to the output jacks from my Ipod. Thank you to http://carstereohelp.net/wireharness_Nissan2.htm which detailed the pin-outs for the CD changer.

However, the radio outsmarted me again! I tied the left and right channels (both +/-) from my Ipod to the inputs. But the radio somehow knows that I don't have a CD hooked up, and when I press the multi-disc button, it will not switch to that mode on the radio.

I'm thinking that I must send the radio a single to trick it into thinking that the multi-disc is hooked up. Maybe utilize the "COMBI->cd (txd)" or "CD->COMBI (RXD)" or "AUX-On Single Input".

Any suggestions? I'm out of ideas and my car is all ripped apart!

Thanks,

Eric

I'd try AUX-On Signal Input.

You might want to post this in the audio fourms.

Thank Tom,

I tried connecting "AUX-ON Single Input" to "Combi-On Single Output", but the radio keept cycling between the radio and the Aux. Do you think I should just put a +12v right into that port? How do I know what voltage to consider? and + or -?

Did you get a harness that plugs into the cd-changer port? Have you tried emailing FCSR? This seems like a great way to save the $100 for the AUX adapter.

Sbddude,

thanks for the post. I do not have the harness, I couldn't find it for a 1995 model, so I am making it myself.

How do I e-mail FCSR? Sorry, I don't know what you mean.

P.S. I do know what e-mail is, just not how to contact FCSR.

I found the email contact link on their website. It's fcsr@msn.com. How did you make your own harness? Can you take some pics? I'd love to do this myself.
