I installed my new rear speakers( RF 3-ways),and they are the only speakers in my car, i haven't installed the front ones yet. I was listening to it for the first time and the volume is real low. I cranked my HU all the way up and i can barely hear the music. As of right now they are the only spkrs wired to my amp, and i just re-grounded everything. what could be causing this, i'm not looking forward to unbolting my seat again.

 

samething thats happening with me, my rca outputs are not sounding that high at all it sounds real low. do yo have bose in your car as well?

 

maybe your gain is way too low.

 

make sure they're not out of phase. double check the wiring to each speaker.

 

even if they were out of phase you couldnt really notice it. the way i solved it last time was the power wire from that batt had a bad connection to the amp. btw i am currently cleaning up my trunk lol

 

actually you would, the opposite cone movements will have an overall cancelation effect. you'd see the cone move, but the output will be lowered.

out of phase?this is my first system, bare with me.i'm running a 4-channel amp and i plan on running my four speakers to it. the amp has 4 terminals, + and - for speaker 1, 2 ..etc. i'm making my front speakers 1 and 2 and the rear 3 and 4. i have the rear hooked up like this. BR, 14 g. wire to terminal 4 +,-, and BL to 3 +,-

 

out of phase just means one speaker is moving up, while the other speaker is moving down. this is most likely caused by wiring the + and - wrong by accident. double check that you did indeed wire them correctly. also like mentioned above, are the gains set high enough?
