Installing components...got a few questions

I am about to get some of these cdt cl-61 that everyone raves about. Does this 6.5" inch fit since the doors are for 6.75"? I have one set of 6.5s that wont screw in because they are too small.
Since I have the GXE non-bose I was wondering where to mount the tweets. My first thought was to put them in that black plastic corner piece that sits in the front corner of the window, above the door panel. I hope you guys know where i am talking about. Anyway is there enough room behind there for me to flush mount the tweeter?
My next question relates to sound deadening. I was considering this....
http://www.thezeb.com/p-Dynamat-1011...Kit-101584.htm
Where would I place it? There is that tan colored mounting piece that the speaker fits into in the door and I don't know if the deadener should go inside it or behind it. Thanks for any help.

That's exactly where mine are. Just make sure when you go to mount them there that you actually unscrew that piece of plastic from the door, because the wires that run to the mirror go under it and it's good to expose the wires so you can see what you're doing. I don't think you'd want to be putting a screw in through those.

Yes they should fit...no speaker is gonna fit right in, gonna hafta drill new holes...get some spacers and some self tapping screws and call it a day.

Pick up some A pillars with the tweeter grill from an SE or whatever...or mount them in the door panel next to the door handle towards the front of the car.

Place the dynomat on the metal door frame itself

Why would I need spacers? Are these cdt comps too deep for the stock mount location? I was hoping that the screw threads would line up with these too.

Are yours mounted on top of that piece or are they mounted flush inside it? Did you run the wires for the tweets straight down behind the door panel from that spot? or where is your crossover at?

I found a picture in the stickies that shows the inside of a 4th gen door. Scroll down about half way to #14.

Would it be best to unscrew the plastic speaker bracket and place the deadener on the metal surface and then screw the bracket back in on top of it? Or is that not the best place to put it? Im trying to just place it in the immediate area of the speaker instead of doing the whole door.

1. THey're mounted on top of that piece. How could you mount them inside it? It really looks fine mounted where it is. It almost blends in and looks like it was supposed to be there.

2. The crossover is behind the door panel. The tweeter wire goes straight down behind the door panel into the crossover.

Where would I get a spacer at if I didn't make one? Do I need these because the stock location isn't deep enough for these speakers?

BB or CC. just ask for a 6.5" spacer kit. its like $13. i know in 5th gens you need the spacer kit. but id go buy it, install the speakers and if you need them use them. just make sure if you dont use them that the window can function fully.

Do you have to cut out the back of the stock mounting bracket on a 4th gen to make these cdts fit in addition to the spacer?

I didn't need spacer for mine, and the screw holes lined up perfectly. but I had BOSE, it could possibly be different.
