Um, not quite that simple. I think you are reffering to the WIDE world of fiberglassing. There are a myriad of techniques which may be employed for making your own mold. You'll have to be more specific. There is no "pour and mold" persay. The only type of pouring for a mold that woiuld occur is when a form is fiberglassed and then a mixture of resin, catalyst, and balance body filler are mixed to pour a mold. Even after that is done you ned to sand away depending on the type of finish you prefer.

With just resin? Yeah, I'd like to see that. Resin in the lack of catalyst will never dry and remain highly viscous. Additionally, the resin has a very high BP, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will stay tacky for a VERY long time.

Well, depending on meticulous you are with the project will determine how it turns out. Strength? Most fiberglass molds will support at least your bodyweight after 3 to 4 layers...they stuff is INCREDIBLY strong.

What are you working on?

That shouldn't be too hard. Just remove everything in the trunk, tape it off, put down 2 -3 layers and oyu have your base. The remaining layout is up to your imagination and ability to use mdf. Depending on how you od it, you will probably want to stretch some polar fleece over what you want, add the resin to the fleece, and shape/sand to your liking.
