Sound Advice Needed...HU and speakers
I have a 2k and want to improve the sound in the car. I have 2 decent 12" Kicker subs and a Kenwood amp that were in my previous car. I am not good with this electronic stuff, and was wondering if anyone could take a minute or 2 and help me out. I am not looking to spend a ton of cash, but would like to end up with a decent sounding system that will definitely sound better than the stock one I am currently listening to. From what I have read, just about anything I put in the car will sound better than the stock BOSE ish...What should be my first investment, HU, speakers? (Names of good HU's and speakers would be mint) Should I scrap the subs and amp that I already have and start over?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am just looking to enjoy cruisin' around town with some decent sound!

head unit and speakers, due to the impedance of the bose stuff you pretty much get pushed into the corner and have to replace them all together anyway. Upon doing this you can upgrade alot easier and figure what you like. On my forums I always tell our guys to go to the car audio store listen to what you like (IE YOUR MUSIC on THEIR EQUIPMENT) find what brand floats your boat then come back and let us know. I have a liscence in the state of va and if its a brand i carry i can hook you up. DON Pearl96Max i believe his name is is the forum kingpin so to speak so it would be a good idea to holler at him as well.
I know its a small trek but he is in nyc (Not THAT bad from Rochester
used to live in watertown (FT DRUM) ) if you wanted to make a weekend of it and have a quality job done, he could definitely knock it out for you.If you feel slightly handy i can tell you how to bypass the bose wiring and utilize the stock wiring for your speakers, then you just use the wires on the installation kit to the radio or amp (Whichever you choose to power the speakers) for sound and your aftermarket modified
and that opens the doors to easily install your ampp and subs without much hassle @ all.
Thanks for the response..to be honest I am not that good with this stuff...but am hesitant as to where I take the car because I have heard horror stories about stuff going wrong. At the same time I feel like places like CC and Best Buy are a huge rip off...any idea on a good head unit that would work for me for a a decent price i.e. a couple hundred bucks? Not looking for real high end stuff but at the same time want to make a difference in the way the car sounds.
