why would you ant to do this? Rear fill is bad for the most important listener---YOU. Just do a great front stage and forgedubout the pwople in the rear. F@ckem! When you add more speakers to the car, it only messes up your imaging. I do not lie.

Yep, he's right. However, I would recommend something for the back...a simple set of coaxes in the OEM slots powered off the HU will suffice. Nothing over $100.

Why do BMWs and other expensive cars have rear door speakers then?

Because it's cheaper to slap a bunch of cheap speakers in there in lieu of putting a quality amplified set 2 or 3-ways.

Absolutley not. More speaker = more trouble imaging the system. If you want to add speakers to the rear doors you are going to have to cut some holes in the panels if they are not alreayd there and wire it to the HU.

This is only done to add quantity to the music-not quality. If you just want to be culo running around blasting out the block, then fine, get rear speakers. If you really care about the sound quality and want to hear the recording the way it was meant to be heard, get a good front stage and do not get rear fill. Do not judge an audo system by the car its installed in.(BMW) I really dont think that anybody would miss speakers in the rear if they had a great front stage with ample power to them (~100wpc). I am not pullng this outa my @ss. Truthfuly, newbies in the car audio world will think- more is better, once you hear a true SQ car and then get into your car with 8 different speakers with 8 different path lengths to your ears, you will be going to rip your rear fill out. Seriously- do some research on the way sound travels, especially in a car environment and then buy your equipment appropriatley. Don't buy your equipment to mimmic a BMW- they are the ultimate driving machine, not listening machine Hope this helps. By the way- ditch the bose if you have the money. It is mediocre. To add rear door speakers to the Bose system is a waste of money. I am only trying to save you some money and from making a serious mistake.
