infinity basslink quality?

I'm in need of a cheap, and i mean CHEAP sub/amp combo. I will have less that 300 dollars for it. I found the Infinity Basslink for 219 on a website. The reviews i read said that it sounds perfect, but it does not really shake anything. I need something that will make the people standing outside and in other cars feel it.

Will the basslink be enough, or would you suggest a different combo? remember, my budget is 300 dollars TOPS.

with 300 bucks you won't get anything that will make others feel it. the basslink wasn't designed for that.

you're better off saving up as much as you can for a complete system, and some really good clean bass rather than something that will shake people

wow $300 huh? that's what you should spend on the headunit alone- if you're gonna do any type of system in your car, do it right the first time. that means get rid of the stock hu, stock spkrs. get a clean sounding hu, some nice mid range spkrs, oh and get you some quality subs and an amp too! it's all what you like, but if you want people outside to "feel it" let alone even "hear it" , im sorry to bust your bubble but the $300 you're gonna spend on that "wastelink" i mean "basslink" isn't gonna cut what you're lookin for! do yourself a favor and save up some more money to do it the right way if you want people to "feel it" ! good luck player!

well, the basslink isn't bad for what its intentions were. i've heard a basslink in my friends accord, and it's pretty nice. adds decent low end to his music but it's nothing that will set off alarms.

im sorry im not rich like most of you people seem to be . I just cant justify spending thousands of dollars on speakers. I like the stock bose and the stock HU look, i just want a subs that bang. I have no intention in changing the bose speakers anytime soon unless they blow.

If the basslink is not enough to shake some, what would you people recomend? Lets say i raise my budget to 400.

Ok, how much would i need?
my friend who's big at audio said that i'd be good with 2 12" Infinity Kappa and a 600watt amp, he said it'll run about 600 bucks if i want it to sound great.
He also said that i'd need to swap out the stock tweeters with some aftermarket ones to balance the sound.

i don't think swapping out stock tweeters and leaving stock midbass would be practical, or even worth it. I'd say upgrade everything...if you shop around it won't get too expensive...definitely need more than 300 bucks though.

well, back then (i said back then because i believe they're out of stock) you could get an adire audio shiva for $125. you shop around for a decent amp and box, you're set. it's not always the number of subs that matter, it's in the install as well.

ok, try this! now im not sure if circuit city has these deals anymore but good luck. try gettin the buy one get one free 10" or 12" subs, preferably the polk/momo subs, not sure which model # but i know its the one that has 800watts peak power handling each sub. should cost you know more than $125 for both subs if cc still has those deals goin on. you can get the esp on these if you'd like but thats totally up to you. next , dont buy a prefab box, shiat, for $12 you can buy even better wood at home depot and be creative and have fun and make your own box, have a couple buddies give ya hand if ya need. you can cover the box with whatever material ya like, carpet, vinyl, fiberglass, u get the picture! next you should have around $250 left at least. now u need a good amp to push those puppies. thats where ebay comes in play, get on there and search away for a good amp that fits your budget. good luck player, just dont want to see you disappointed and back on here saying how much you hate that infinity basslink. remember this though, if you're planning on running this gear off of your stock hu, the sound is not going to be the greatest. you will be more satisfied with a cleaner sounding hu to push thru all this sound you have. but hey you can upgrade your hu later if you'd like when you save up some more $$$, look into alpine or eclipse for the clean stuff! maybe this will satisfy your need for bass, but to all their own. peace player!
