Amp wiring questions

I have a new JVC deck, new speakers and amp. The speakers were wired through the factory wiring. I just installed the new ones with new wiring however I'm a little bit confused. Do I run the speaker wires to the trunk into the amp, and then the RCA cables to the back of the deck? And if so what do I do with the wires behind the deck, nothing? Just tape them off?

what i did when amping my speakers was:

i bought 4 pieces of 16 ft cable or so. 1 for each speaker.
I wired them NOT from the speakers themselves but from the inputs to the headunit THROUGH MY AFTER MARKET WIRING HARNESS. not the factory one.

so instead of the signals comming from the head unit to the speakers, the wires were cut and they go to the speaker, then from the splice on the wire harness back to my amp following the same pattern that i ran my RCA's with.

I did this because I did not not need to take apart my door or anything. And when i go to replace my stock radio (whenever that may be) all i have to do is take out the wire harness i bought and plug the original back in. Then just pull all the wires out and everything will work just as they did when they were stock.

I hope that helps.

cool no problem man, I was just hoping u understood the part about the wires behind the head unit. Because he wires int he harness come from the unit to the speakers, i cut them and took the side going to the speakers and thats where i spliced them in. So the wires go from my amp, up behind my unit with the RCA's and then into the harness, where the harness sends the signal back into the speakers through all the stock setup.
