Are all the grounding kits the same?

Blehmco vs. DIY

Blehmco
(1) Good, reputable kit
(2) Moderatley priced (only $50 w/ shipping ain't bad at all)
(3) Geared towards smooth engine response
(4) Straightforward, simple installation
(5) Aesthetically pleasing
(6) Does not cover as many points as a DIY kit

DIY
(1) Wire gauge/length can be tailored to users likling
(2) About $20 - $25 cheaper than the blehmco kit
(3) More often geared more towards handling high-demand audio systems
(4) Moderate/Difficult & time consuming installtion depending on installers experience
(5) Appearance will differ depending on brand of wire used (knukonceptz makes VERY nice wire)

If anyone can think of anything I left out, please feel free to add it. 'Ness, you are probably best off going with the Blehmco kit if you are looking for a smoother engine response...it will be much easier for you If you are going the non-DIY route, make sure you stick with the Matt's kit since the other ones out there are charging you way too much in overhead (IMHO).

I for one, got Matts kit and am EXTREMELY happy with the results, remember, by adding this to your ride, you are NOT adding 5+ hp. All I seem to have gotten was a smoother shift in my auto, it was noticable right away.

not looking for HP gains with this. Im just looking to control some "fly-away" voltage for when I install my audio system.

Unless your system is demanding a TRUE kilowatt of power, the Blehmco kit will suit your needs nicley.

How many grounding points are you running? So long as you hit the big 3 as I posted earlier, you should be well off. As to how many additional points you run, well - that is up to you.

The basic law is that electron flow takes th path of least resistance, there is a difference if you are running an amp with 8 ga or 4ga, a noticable difference. I think 1/0 gauge on a grounding kit is overkill, and they all basically do the same thing, the only price difference would be if you are getting actual gold or silver wiring for the grounds. They have put cars on a dyno and have noticed hp increases by just the grounding kit. It helps with car audio the most and unless you are running digital gauges (volmeters) up front you wouldn't tell the difference. You can either gain a few tenths of a volt or maybe even a full volt. The ones that you get on eBay don't have an upgrade for the positive wire on the alternator and this does make a difference in the gains.
